[WT-support] ESM and PTT tail length

Hello to all,
 
I agree with Steve about ESM. Is very needed. Once you know and use it
you can live without it in a serious contest effort.

Operating WPX CW this weekend highlighted the need for two WT
enhancements.

 

1) PTT Tail Length Too Long

 

The CW PTT tail length is a bit long.  I missed all or half of the first
character of many call signs due to the PTT hang time being too long.
Please consider making the PTT tail length shorter or else make it user
adjustable (like PTT On delay).

 

 

2) ESM Mode

 

It would be advantageous to have the option to use ESM mode.  During a
long CW contest the savings in hand motions gained by using ESM is very
great.  Please seriously consider adding ESM mode capability to WT.
