Hi Dave

Yes the mic is enabled ok as you describe. WinTest **only** enables the mic
when recording (Shift Fn), at all other times the mic is muted. I'm using a
Toshiba Tecra laptop, SigmaTel audio, does the sound card have to be duplex
compatible?

Hi Mark .... open your VOLUME CONTROL and click on OPTIONS-->PROPERTIES.
Make sure that the MICROPHONE has been ENABLED as an Input to the SOUND CARD
MIXER.

Different Sound Cards set up slightly differently, but most seem to either
show the Microphone Input to the Mixer as MUTED, or the default Mixer Inputs
do not include the Microphone until Enabled.

It works good after that. You will want to use an isolation transformers
between the Soundcard and the radio's Microphone Input.
