I think you're totally confused...

The title of your email is "USB - CW LPT" and your post is talking about 
"USB-SERIAL" ???

So, what do you own *EXACTLY* ? Computers do not admit approximations !

1/ If you own an USB to LPT converter use the following schematics :

DB25
LPT

1  -----------| NPN Emitter

17 --- R -----| NPN Base     NPN Collector  |-----> TRX CW input

18 -----------------------------------------------> TRX ground

2/ If you own an USB to COM (serial) converter with a DB 25 connector, 
use the following schematics :

DB25
COM

4 --- R ------| NPN Base     NPN Collector  |-----> TRX CW input

         +-----| NPN Emitter
         |
7 ------+-----------------------------------------> TRX ground

I supposed you use RTS line (Pin 4) as CW output - If you use DTR, use 
pin 20 instead.
