It's not a bug. It's a feature.

It avoids to waste time when you record a message "on the fly" - It is 
specially useful when recording a CQ with a split freq on 40m.

Mmmmm... Weird.

You mean everytime to want to play a message, you need to hit Esc before 
Fx ??? Any reproductible setup and bug appreciated...
