After digging and several private mail exchanges with Fabio, it appears 
this behaviour only happens when you have NO "physical" radio connected, 
and NO radio setup in the interfaces dialog.

Which makes no real sense to "jump" to certain frequencies in this case. 
If you want to see all spots etc... use the list tab of the bandmaps.

If you *really* want to use this feature with *no radio connected* :

- Setup a dummy Kenwood radio as Radio1
- Use a dummy free COM port (speed etc... are irrelevant) for this radio.
