Hi the list,
Version 2.2.3 of win-test is available for download at:
http://download.win-test.com/wt-2.2.3.exe
Both country file (version of Oct 19, 2004) and database (version of Oct
5, 2004) are also released. If country file
Two country files are available : "CTY.DAT" which is the original one,
and "CTY_WT.DAT" which is a more accurate version. NB: is you have both
installed, Win-Test will use by default "CTY_WT.DAT". It means that the
modifications in "CTY.DAT" are useless because only "CTY_WT.DAT" will be
used by the program! The country files will be automatically copied by
the Win-Test installer if the "Update country files" option is checked.
You can also download a copy a these files from:
http://download.win-test.com/databases/
The database is compiled into a DTB format (Win-Test database format)
according to the master.dta maintained by K5ZD. As for the country file,
there is a couple of databases that can be of interest: "HF.DTB" is the
default one, which is loaded for most of the HF contests if there is no
"specialized" version available. For the CQWW, "CQ.DTB" is more accurate
(the CQ zones of the north american stations are included) and will be
loaded in place of "HT.DTB" if it exists.
The database files can be downloaded from (they are *not* updated
automatically by the Win-Test installer, you must download and install
them manually):
HF.DTB (zipped): http://download.win-test.com/databases/HF.ZIP
CQ.DTB (zipped): http://download.win-test.com/databases/CQ.ZIP
The files must be unzipped and copied into the Win-Test directory
(usually C:\Program Files\Win-Test). It can be safe to keep a copy of
the old ones renaming them.
As usual you will find below the complete release information. Good luck
in the CQWW, and hope to work from FY5KE where the whole Win-Test team
will operate as M/S! :-)
- Stew Perry Topband Distance Challenge added. Specific database is
available at http://download.win-test.com/databases/
- Bugfix in "interfaces configuration window": having both the
multikeyer defined on a COM port and a radio defined on another one is
implying that *two* rig must be configurated. The configuration window
now checks this. Tks F6IFY.
- A new text command NOSPLIT (or SPLITOFF) sets split operation off for
the current radio.
- In bandmaps windows, if the DX callsign can't be entirely displayed,
it's included in the associated tooltip informations.
- LZ DX Contest added.
- New CLEARLOG text command added. Mimics Edit / Clear all QSO menu item.
- The sun icons can be now displayed or not in the Spots window (Alt-A)
in HF contests. A new option in the same contextual menu also allows to
display all optionnal fields or to hide them all in a row.
- The QSO information displayed in the F9 tooltip now includes the sent
exchange if it is a serial number.
- You can now enter a frequency also with no decimal point (CT style) in
the callsign field and "Enter" to jump to this freq. For ex. 18235 Enter
will jump to 1823.5 kHz. Tnx F6FGZ.
- The standard space time between CW words is now set to 7 dits length,
instead of 6 (known as "CT space"). But there is now a new option in the
Options / CW menu to set it back to 6 dits if you want. You can also use
the new text commands CTSPACE and NOCTSPACE to set it to 6 or 7 dits.
- Upon log opening, WT now warns if your country can't be resolved from
your callsign, and aborts file loading. Tnx F5MUX/TO7X
- If you have a wheel mouse, you can now set a bigger or smaller font
for the child windows in clicking in it, and use the Ctrl key while
rolling the wheel (a la Mozilla/Firefox).
- In the multipliers window (Alt-M), Shift + mouse wheel scrolls the
list to the first or the last line.
- The mouse wheel is now also active the usual way in the multipliers
window (Alt-M) for scrolling, In the locators window (Alt-L), it
enlarges or reduces the area of displayed land, and in the bandmaps
windows, it modifies the scale.
- In VHF+ and Stew Perry contests, the current gridsquare is displayed
in red color in the locators window. "Display contacts" option must be
enabled. Tnx F6BGC.
- New experimental feature : Gridsquares are extracted from packet flow
comments, if possible, and are used to calculate Az and distance spot.
The syntax analyser is quite accurate, but it will not replace the human
brain in some circonstances !
- Spots with known gridsquares (extracted from log, database or
extracted from packet flow comments) can be displayed in the locators
map window (Alt-L). The tooltip associated with them displays callsign,
guessed locator, azimuth and distance.
- If a spot with known gridsquare is pointed in the spots window
(Alt-A), its location is blinking in the locators map window (Alt-L).
- Bugfix : In CQWW DX, working a station in the same country as yours
was giving points instead of 0. Tnx F5MUX.
- Bugfix : FT990 split operation is now working and displayed in the
bandmaps. Tnx F6GOX.
- Bugfix : The ini key regarding the check country refresh mode was
incorrect.
